The death of Hamsphere
As of today 23 april 2008 Hamsphere is closed until further notice.
A Big THANK YOU to all of you who downloaded the software and made contacts on my system. Good on you!
The reason for the close is that the system was not being used due to my "BIG MISTAKES" according to some Ham Operators (Hams).
And what about my big mistakes...
Most Hams seem to have lost their experimental lust.
Most Hams apparently have tried to avoid noise and fading all their life.
Most hams think that a regulated system with approved licenses was required.
Most licensed HAM operators avoid my system due to the fact I gave non licensed users access.
I have learned my lesson, HamSphere became PirateSphere, and I had it coming!
I don't want to be an Amateur Radio operator anymore - the spirit is all gone for me.
HamSphere was developed for one big reason. It was a pure challenge for me as a programmer.
The digital signal processing in this system was a true challenge.
I wanted to prove it was possible to develop a system based on real radio stuff like
digital oscillators, mixers and real ionospheric parameters.
And I did it. The technology is way different from the other systems.
A little request: If anyone wants to develop a licensing system for HamSphere
and take over where I failed, you are welcome to get my system for free and set it up for pure licensed users.
I won't do it, but you can! Email kelly@lindman.com.
Good bye and thank you all users for trying my system out.

You guys have wrecked a tool that will introduce new blood to the hobby which let's face it is on its ass. Shall we let everyone die off and sell the HF bands to Motorola?
On a positive note:
I am even more motivated now to get going to ensure that those who feel uncomfortable with the attitudes of some hams have nothing to fear and should be proud of the achievement of a licence whatever level.
PS. I would like to add that all MW stations (GWs) have been totally positive and full of support for me and my two buddys who wish to proceed with our interests. the above should only annoy those who have the prejudice and no radio spirit.
No sooner do I get enthusiastic about becoming a ham radio. I learn that the very same people who I want to join have ruined and wrecked an inovative piece of software by pissing off the creator to such an extent that he drops the whole project.
